◉正藍染の効能◉
藍には遠赤外線効果があり、血行を良くしたり疲労回復の効果があるとされております。また、藍の成分には「 トんリプタンスリン」という抗菌物質が含まれており、アトピー肌の方や皮膚にも良く、防虫・防臭効果、保温効果、生地の強化、紫外線カット等の効能もあります。
正藍染は、たで藍の葉を発酵させた"すくも"と堅木の"灰汁"のみで発酵させた藍液に、何度も浸透させて微生物を付着させます。そのため、素材の中で微生物が生きており、様々な効果を発揮してくれます。
また、洗濯による色落ちがほとんどないのも特徴です。色落ちがあったとしても、直ぐに止まります。摩擦で薄くなることはありますが、色移りは一切ありませんので、分別せずに洗濯していただけます。
初めのうちは、茶味を帯びた色が出ることがありますが、藍染めの灰汁(アク)によるものです。アクが抜けることによってより鮮やかな青色が冴え、水を通すことにより美しい色になってゆきます。
正藍染は不思議に真冬も暖かく包み込んでくれます。

「 Japanese Indigo 」
These garments have been individually dyed in the Shiga prefecture by a 紺屋(Kouya), whose techniques have been passed down many generations.
After growing and drying the Ai plant, it is then fermented for approximately 100 days to create the dye called 蒅 (Sukumo). Due to the fact that the 蒅 goes through the process of 藍建て (aidate), the particles in the dye are larger than that of those in indigo dye, making the Sukumo dye much harder to discolor.
It is said that clothes dyed in 藍 do not smell, do not get dirty easily, antibacterial, regulate temperature during summer and winter, and do not need to be washed until it is re-dyed. In addition, clothes dyed in 藍 have other wonderful characteristics such as repelling bugs and vipers. These clothes can be hand washed in a basin.
